The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering family mourns the death of its graduates in the Swords of Iron War
In these unbearable times, we all unite to send our encouragement to the IDF soldiers and brave security forces, to the families of the missing persons and hostages, and to the families who lost loved ones
Activities for the abductees, collecting donations for packages for soldiers, help for farmers and more. This is what we did for help and support during the war

Our story

Since its establishment in 1935, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion has turned out many of Israel’s leading engineers who are currently driving Israeli industry, research and development. Its graduates hold key positions in industries such as high-tech, defense, healthcare, energy and aviation. It is the leading mechanical engineering program in Israel, with enrollment of 1,000 students every year under the guidance of senior academic staff, scientists and industry experts, and with the support of a skilled and professional team of engineers, technicians and administrative personnel.

Assistive devices, such as prosthetics and orthotics, enable millions of people to remain mobile and functional despite disabilities or injuries. Designing optimal, personalized biomechanical interfaces, however, remains challenging because of substantial inter- and intra-subject variability, the complexity of soft-tissue mechanics,...

Parametric resonance is a dynamic phenomenon where one or more parameters of the system (i.e., inertia, stiffness or damping) are periodically modulated in time. Parametric resonators are governed by a 2nd order, linear non-autonomous differential equation. In microelectromechanical systems (MEMS),...

Fluid-structure interactions involving electrokinetic phenomena are increasingly relevant in microfluidics, biomedical systems, and soft robotics. One notable electrokinetic phenomenon is diffusioosmotic flow—the spontaneous movement of fluid along a stationary surface driven by a solute concentration gradient. In electrolyte solutions, diffusioosmotic...

Fracture—how and why materials break—remains one of the most challenging problems in solid mechanics. Modeling both crack nucleation under multiaxial loading and contact phenomena—closure, sliding, and friction—within a single variational phase-field framework has long been difficult. Existing phase-field models typically...
