Brakim is a track in mechanical engineering for students in the military academic reserve program (Atuda) who have demonstrated excellence. The program offers a unique and challenging track for BSc and MSc degrees, including a thesis, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
Brakim provides academic and military training especially adapted to research and development, which are at the core of the IDF’s technological activity. Graduates of the program serve as technological pioneers in the IDF and spearhead Israel’s defense establishment.

How to register
First, register for and take the psychometric admission test no later than in April of your senior year in high school.
In addition, register for the academic reserve through the Mitgaisim website and choose the mechanical engineering profession. After registering, send the following forms and documents to the Brakim Administration, no later than the end of February of your senior year of high school:
- Copy of the registration forms for the academic reserve.
- Registration forms for Brakim.
- Copy of your final grades from the 11th grade.
- Copy of the psychometric admission test score or copy of the registration form for the month of April at the latest.
