Prof. Emeritus Moshe Shoham of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering raised $10 million for ForSight Robotics, a startup that develops a robotic platform for complex eye surgery

פרופ' משה גלפז

Haifa-based ForSight Robotics develops a platform that will automate the complex stages of eye surgery, providing eye surgeons with unprecedented skills and maneuverability through microsurgical robotics, computer imaging and machine learning. These capabilities will enable eye surgeons in the future to prevent factors that lead to blindness in microsurgery, and also to significantly shorten their long training process, which currently leads to a shortage of skilled eye surgeons all over the world.

ForSight Robotics was founded by CSO Prof. Moshe Shoham (founder of Mazor Robotics, which was acquired in 2018 for $1.6 billion), CEO Dr. Daniel Gluzman and President & CMO Dr. Yosef Nathan. The seed raising led by Eclipse VC and Mithril Capital is a vote of confidence in the company’s management team. Seth Winterott, partner at Eclipse, said, “Our partnership with Foresight is a continuation of our effort to invest in the most advanced robotics companies and support world-class talent with the experience needed to build solutions for high-value applications and industries. ForSight Robotics meets all of these criteria and one more: its success will help millions of people around the world see and live better.”
