Since its establishment in 1935, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion has turned out many of Israel’s leading engineers who are currently driving Israeli industry, research and development. Its graduates hold key positions in industries such as high-tech, defense, healthcare, energy and aviation. It is the leading mechanical engineering program in Israel, with enrollment of 1,000 students every year under the guidance of senior academic staff, scientists and industry experts, and with the support of a skilled and professional team of engineers, technicians and administrative personnel.
Students in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering find in it a productive academic environment with scientists engaged in pioneering research, and a wide range of research and teaching activities that combine infrastructural science and complex applications. They all have at their disposal some of the most sophisticated and advanced equipment and laboratories in the world, a computer farm, and well-equipped and spacious library.
The four-year undergraduate program confers a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. In addition, the Faculty offers a variety of tracks for MSc and PhD degrees. We seek to enroll the finest students who are scientifically curious, creative and have an entrepreneurial spirit, and offer them a higher education that is second to none, a student-oriented approach, an ‘open door’ policy, a vibrant student life, advanced teaching methods that are constantly being innovated, and facilities of the highest quality.
The program is adapted to the employment market of the 21st century. Our graduates obtain the strongest foundation in science and engineering and become independent learners, which is an essential trait for success in today’s dynamic engineering environment.
Those choosing an academic career find a supportive environment for success here that offers a broad and modern interdisciplinary approach. The investment of the Faculty and Technion in faculty members is on par with the world’s best universities, and belonging to the Faculty opens doors at scientific and research institutions around the globe.
Thanks to our extensive scientific activity, the Faculty has developed extensive relationships with leading companies in Israel and around the world, which foster rich exchange of information in research and development. Our research fellows hold very senior positions in the heart of the industry and build bridges between the two worlds.
If you want to help build a better future for humanity – your place is here with us in mechanical engineering. We are committed to continue training our students for diverse, fascinating and satisfying careers and to develop future technologies for the benefit of society in Israel and around the world.
