Artificial intelligence technologies continue to gain momentum, making the vision of a robot in every home closer than ever before. Students Nitzan Mishaal and Asaf Aaronson from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering presented a mobile, inexpensive and simple robot that is all arms, capable of walking, climbing stairs and grabbing objects like a coffee mug. All this was done through a small change they made to the configuration of the joints of a common robotic arm. The robot can be controlled through a mobile application and is equipped with sensors and image processing capabilities that allow it to use grip algorithms and plan routes autonomously.

The concept was developed under the guidance of Roman Shamsutdinov from the Faculty, in collaboration with the Schulich Leaders Program and the Mehoudar Center for Investors.
