Professor Stotter, a veteran of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Born in Yugoslavia (1922, Travnik), survived the holocaust in the Bergen Belsen Concentration Camp. After the camp’s liberation, he emigrated to Israel (1948).
Within a short time, he took a technician’s job at the labs of the old Technion in Hadar. While working, he studied for his B.S.c. which he completed in 1955. In 1956 he qualified for an Engineer Diploma, and in 1957 achieved his Masters, M.S.c. at the Technion. In 1963 he obtained a Doctorate of Engineering from the University of Aachen in Germany.
Throughout the years, Prof Stotter taught various subjects at the faculty while also engaging in research and managing various institutions:
- The Energy and Heat Lab
- Headed the Technion’s Institute of Road Safety
- Dean of the Faculty
- Institute of Transportation research and several others.
He regularly consulted the ministry of transportation, the Israeli Navy, Armament Corps, Tank Corps.
Over the years, Prof. Stotter was a Guest lecturer and researcher at various universities around the world.
