Graduate Degrees

Among the fields of engineering at the Technion, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering stands out for its wide range of research topics and the diversity of positions in industry that our graduates hold. The rapid technological and scientific advances that are taking place globally in medical robotics, additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, metamaterials, and energy harvesting require us to remain at the forefront of technological innovation to make an impact. With its long history of excellence and global reputation, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion provides graduate students with the skillset required to address these evolving needs.

During their studies, our students receive the tools to enable them to continue to develop as individuals, identify problems, ask questions, and provide innovative and creative solutions to the challenges they face. As an integral component of their studies, students have the opportunity to work as part of dynamic research teams in the most advanced research groups in the world.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Technion actively encourage students to establish relationships with researchers at Israeli institutions and with collaborators worldwide, and to participate in international conferences and exchange visits. The experiences our graduate students gain during their studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering continue to serve them throughout their lives.

Equipped with a graduate degree in mechanical engineering from the Technion, our graduates achieve leading positions in industry, research and development, and manufacturing. Our graduates thus shape the landscape of Israeli industry and with it, the future. Students who continue on to PhD degrees in the faculty regularly attain and excel in postdoctoral positions in the world’s leading universities, going on to become valued members of academia in Israel and abroad and to lead global research efforts.

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering offers several continuing-education MSc and PhD programs. These are open to students with a BSc in engineering as well as graduates of other scientific departments (for example, mathematics physics, and computer science) from recognized academic institutions.
