Nonlinear and Chaotic Dynamical Systems Laboratory

The programs in Nonlinear and Chaotic Dynamical Systems Laboratory include:

  1. Global bifurcations and spatio-temporal instabilities in continuum mechanical systems and structures that exhibit chaotic and non-stationary dynamics.
  2. Stability and (piezoelectric) control of nonlinear nano/micro beams and panels with application to multi-functional Scanning Probe Microscopy;
  3. Fluid-structure interaction of tethered Lighter-Than-Air-Systems, energy harvesting from self-excited Vortex-Induced Vibrations, and stabilization of maneuvering aeroelastic slender bodies.
