פרס זה מוענק בדרך כלל על תרומה משמעותית ורבת שנים בתחום מדע והנדסת הלובריקציה.
הפרס לפרופ’ עציון מוענק על:
“for distinguished contributions to the fields of tribology, contact mechanics and lubrication including the creation of groundbreaking elastic-plastic contact models and pioneering research on surface texturing for hydrodynamic lubrication.”
הפרס יוענק במסגרת הכנס בנובמבר הקרוב בשיקגו.
