Research Interests

  • Nonlinear dynamics and vibrations, bifurcations and nonlinear waves in smooth and non-smooth, an-harmonic lattices and highly degenerate dynamical systems
  • Regular and stochastic dynamics of granular media, nonlinear wave phenomena in 1D, 2D, 3D periodic and non-periodic granular crystals, passive control of energy flow through the granular material
  • Development of passive nonlinear strategies for localization, entrapment, mitigation and channeling of propagating shock waves in solid media
  • Wave propagation in multi-layered composite systems, with repetitive structures, ordered/disordered structural defects and discontinuities
